Spiritual wellness focuses on that ‘big picture’ view of life.  It lets us find meaning in life events and define our individual purpose.  They also seek to question the meaning and purpose of life for themselves and those around them.

This dimension of wellness does not specify a religion, it is simply a state of questioning the universe and desiring to understand and define universal values in the world, including faith, values, ethics and morals.

Development in this dimension includes developing a deep appreciation and acceptance for things that cannot be completely understood. It involves the tolerance of values and beliefs of others and participating in activities that are consistent with personal values.

  • Explore your inner self.  Take time to think about who you are.
  • If you experience a life-changing event, take a few minutes to think about what series of events led to this.
  • Spend time on meditation or other methods of relaxation.
  • Practice acceptance on the values and beliefs of others.
  • Be curious: Even if something only triggers a little bit of your curiosity, take a moment to explore the experience a little deeper.
